My boy would just stand and sweat in the sun he would get so hot! When I got a fly sheet finally he was so much happier! I was shocked because I really didn't think black horses would get so much hotter than even a dark bay would when I first got him.

What brand size sheet do you use? I find my daughter’s gelding runs so hot that he can’t really wear a fly sheet once it’s over 75 or 77° without sweating a ton.
I actually had a couple rather cheap ones but always made sure that they had good uv protection. We never did have much humidity either so that might also make a difference. I liked weatherbeeta and the smartpak ones best.
Oh yeah, I know we are blessed with super high humidity all the time so I have to figure out something really particular for him
