The thing I didn't want when I was working 16 hour days five days a week since age 14 was that extra day off. I mean, I could have been restocking shelves, selling jewelry at Bullocks, cameras at Kit's or teaching a bus load of kids from sun up to down, then commuting home to grade. More work?Bliss!

I agree, we need to get rid of days off for Christmas and Easter. One holiday is all about an old fat pediphile handing out free gifts to children. Socialism. And the other holiday is about a rabbit laying eggs. Clearly a chicken identifying as a rabbit, since rabbits don't lay eggs.

Pretty sure that we have about half the holidays and much less vacation time, but some maternity and paternity leave at some places, just depends. I always had plenty of sick leave. Maybe not as bad as you think, but it's more dependent on employer here.

Yeah, I'm aware that that's the case some places. I always liked what I was doing, so I've not been troubled but I know that some people here have very hard times and that the GOP is trying to make them harder. They started by wearing down union loyalty in the '80s, and have never stopped.
