You think God killed the kids yesterday? wow.
You think God killed the kids yesterday? wow.
You're right, it wasn't god because he doesn't exist. It was Americans who did this.
god definitely didn't save them.
Free will. If we want kids to be safe, we have to save them with our own hands. How we do that when there are folks who have combined hatred and guns, I have no idea, since getting rid of the plague of easily available firearms does not seem to be the American Way these days.
I thought god performed miracles? Did he quit that, or is he just really picky?
you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. sit down.
Ummm yeah that's why I asked the questions. If you have an answer, stand right up and share.
oh was that an actual question bc it read as sarcasm. i'll let the other person answer bc you don't seem to be someone who actually wants to learn anything.
Miracles occur, but they certainly do not have to be tied back to what religion says about any of them. Have you ever been given a totally unexpected blessing that had an effect on your life? They don't have to be big things. They are gifts to be grateful for. They come out of nowhere.
I had a flat tire on the street once - in front of Formula One and NASCAR champion Dan Gurney's pit crew. I was on my way in two minutes. I look on that kind of thing as a "what are the odds" miracle. Someone I knew was not surprised when I told the story. He said, "That kind of thing happens to you
all the time." I personally think that kind of thing happens to SO MANY people who disregard that it could have been meant to call attention to itself. I know a lot of people who don't believe in a god, but believe they have a soul, and they have to nourish it, just as they nourish their bodies.
I like your idea of miracles.
Thank you, Leah. Feel free to see how it works for you, and please change it if it doesn't.
Ahh yes, the made up phrase that "god" gave us, so all the responsibility is on US, not "them". It's all made up nonsense, my point, was people use religion when convenient. Republicans use it everyday, and feign victim hood. Left use it to pretend they're better than the right. It's all MADE UP
Reasonable people may disagree, but the conflation of "religion" with "spirituality" is one of the most damaging things humanity has ever done. They are two entirely different entities, and often directly antithetical to one another. Frex, religion is exlusionary; spirituality is inclusive.
I know spiritual atheists, so yes.
There is nothing reasonable about believing in sky fairies.
If I might ask, how do you respond to the rest of the post, the part that comes after the throwaway first clause?
I am aware of the differences. Both are fiction. Both give false hope to a future beyond the grave. Not based in any reality. You're barkin up a tree here. Because I'm NOT interested.
Mel Brooks: "Hope for the best; expect the worst." I don't think hope is ever false. It might be *wrong,* and much of it probably is, but if it's a choice between hope and fear, I believe hope is far better for our individual physiology and psychology.
Feel free to block me, because I will never stop.
I'm pretty aware of religious people not stopping their harassment of atheists and other non believers. I've lived it my whole life. I have no interest in blocking you. I will do what I do to them, Ignore them. Because you mean nothing. 👋
I may mean nothing to you, and that's fine. Baskin Robbins makes 31 flavors for a reason. And I apologize for what I may have said that reminded you of harassment.
maybe that was dude's plan. dude: God will certainly stop me! god: durrrrflhshh Score so far - God: 0 Humans: 18,786,902,201
well, if you believe God works through us, then yes
