I'm really not a vinyl fetishist, I promise: I want to hear music all the time, everywhere, however it is possible. But there is something about when you have only streamed something and then put on the vinyl you got of it, and there is that first moment of analog humanity...
And holding the album cover/liner notes while you listen.

We just visited young friends in LA who are collecting reissued jazz & blues records; Sade, etc. Things they didn't know: Close the turntable cover when the record is playing (they've only ever seen DJs spin). Don't leave records lying around unsleeved and exposed to sun. Don't stack naked records.
