what's happening is the chilling impact of viciously anti-Palestinian policy *domestically* which was a result/risk of Trump's re-election absolutely no one in the scene seemed to consider in terms of their positioning even though it was telegraphed as much as the tariffs bsky.app/profile/rand...

maybe it would be if we got Trump I again but it was blatantly clear this was going to be Trump without any restraint and an administration as brain-poisoned and evil as he is

like at the end of the day fuck joe biden to hell for making it genuinely hard to *make* a harm reduction case for an ongoing genocide but he doesn't matter anymore

So what did you do to try to stop Biden from supporting genocide? What did you do to stop the Harris campaign from saying they would do the same as Biden?

They have no answer for this. Just "You can't pressure Trump!" yeah well we apparently couldn't fucking pressure Biden and Harris either, so we made the electoral threat and followed through. Now they're trying to blame us for them not believing us.

right now we have a genocide escalating by the day and not a single lever of power to pull. even if we vacuumed all the zionism out of schumer and jeffries by magic they couldn't do anything. as someone who does care about Palestinians I hate it here and you should too.

The Democrats made it extremely clear to us in 2024 that even if they took/retained power, we would have no "lever of power" regarding Palestine. Now if the Democrats want to avoid a repeat in 2026 and 2028, their only option is to become an anti-racist, anti-genocide party. Or we'll do it again.

delusional. Trump's hated enough and crashing plains state's economies bad enough democrats might take the senate. the problem is the damage being done now, not the electoral appeal of the Trumpist GOP

You still wouldn't vote for them because you don't care about Gaza beyond giving you an excuse to stay at home help fascists win - you made things way worse for Palestine and celebrated it All you did was move the party rightwards because that's their only voter base left, which is what you wanted

Things stayed exactly the same for Palestine. Trump's, Biden's, and Harris's policies on Israel-Palestine are the same. If we have enough political and electoral power to cost the Democrats elections, then if they want to win again they have to compromise with us., or stay pro-genocide and lose.

You are both being ridiculous. Obviously the person to whom you are responding cares a lot about the genocide of Palestinians, Israeli impunity & US complicity/collusion. Biden Admin & Dems laid the extremely dangerous groundwork for the repression of this moment.

Another face in the crowd @hraedon.com

didn’t at least some of the activists admit that they didn’t protest Trump because doing so would have put them personally in real danger? People were thrilled when they could make the case for the “rational, single-issue Gaza voter,” but they’re back to genocide=genocide because what’s left?
