Someone pointed out that one place Mormons don't really fit in with the rest of the right is in matters of xenophobia, because all Mormons have to go on missions as young people, and many are sent internationally. So there's a lot more recognition of foreigners as human equals.

This & Mormonism is retains a lot of 19th century communitarianism that has almost entirely disappeared from the modern US conservative movement. Even the most Hitlerite rural Mormons are rabid communitarians.

They care a lot about going to church, civility, community, and institutions. The average MAGAt is pretty secular and hates the rest of that stuff. They also tend to be much more educated than other conservative denominations.
