this gets to my theory that Newsom is a Democrat because the Gettys are libs and if he were the unofficially adopted scion of just about any other wealthy family he'd just be a Republican

He had a lot of moral luck in that his social groups put guiderails on someone who really could have been proper evil rather then "mearly" bad on a few issues.
