this is the first time a major Democratic elected has actually told his supporters what they can do in the face of this as far as I can tell

Which is why he's the frontrunner and will hopefully be President in 2028.
Gov. Pritzker is what America needs - Take note Dem Governors!
If you can: Be there Be there with others Film stops, arrests, detainments etc by ICE, feds, cops etc Film them walking down the street or standing around Warn others esp potentially vulnerable people Waste their time Monopolize their attention Distract them Make them a spectacle 1/3
Blast (within legal decibel limits) silly songs (for ex: Vanilla Ice) Lawfully engage ICE, feds, cops etc Film them Ask them why they're wearing masks Ask them to remove their masks Ask them their names Ask what agency they work for Ask them where they're from Ask them why they're here 2/3
Mock and ridicule them for masking Ask how it feels to be hated by everyone in town Ask if this is what they thought this assignment would be like Ask if they really want to be here Ask if they'd rather be home where they live with family and friends instead of being hated here 3/3
I did not even know how ready I was to accept a chain of command I could believe in

yep, bingo. up til now it's been all, "while I theoretically support my constituents, let me just ask them all not to do anything that I wouldn't do..."
Our Alderwoman heads the Progressive Caucus in the City Council, and she's been sharing resources. it's a bit.ly link and the stub is FAFOChicago
Absolutely Brilliant. He speak truth at a cadence most can believe is true. Brilliant🥳👏🏻
going beyond naming what it is to giving, however limited, marching orders
it's about damn time someone stops calling this 'a distraction' and treats it as a fucking threat
this is proper Opposition Party behavior and god is it nice to see

I was going to say, AOC definitely has, but that’s different from being the executive of a large state. There’s something powerful (for good or bad) about an executive being seen to lead and show strength during a crisis, whether it’s Rudy on 9/11, Cuomo during Covid, or Pritzker now.
👊🏿😡😡
TX NG in Illinois are an enemy invasion force and should be treated as enemy combatants
📌
Politely refuse cooperation, sales or service. Tell out of state NG you're busy and can't take orders, and maybe they should get take out food from Texas.
God i hope this guy becomes president
I do really hope he can have the Illinois national guard prevent ICE/Texas national guard from entering the city though. Like, force the confrontation!
that's honestly a lot to ask for one governor but maybe this is where the inter-blue state compact comes into play?
