I’m not saying the CDC folks shouldn’t walk out, but isn’t the whole place shutting down exactly what the republicans want? As much death and sickness as possible is one of their big goals, right?

Yes, but imagine going to work where everything good you try to do gets stonewalled. Leaving highlights how bad things are and probably does more to help change things.
