I think they probably had their babies in the back yard, and when it was time for them to take them to water - they needed a way out of the back yard, and the homeowners were kind enough to open the doors to let them go through on their own

When I lived in Regina there was a duck family that always nested in a neighbour’s yard (because he used cornmeal to discourage weeds) and every spring he would guide the mum and babies to the local pond.

My sister does too. I love every creature except mankind as a general rule. I even have found spiders fascinating since I got past my severe arachnophobia. I hate humans simply because they could be this kind all the time, but they’re not. Hypocrites to their core.

Yes. I’ve often said it would be harder for me to dispose of an animal than some particular humans. Birds and spiders are fine, as long as they keep their distance. 🤣

I’ve kept jumping spiders as pets in my kitchen since they dispose of various insects. They’re adorable and good company. But I’ll be honest: if there were a nuclear apocalypse and all humans but my partner, my 8 niblings, and my mom died I wouldn’t be very upset. Not for long.
