why did they give a tax break to old people as a "political stunt" but halve healthcare for the poor? It's not a coincidence who they do "political stunts" for.

Likely because old people vote in higher % and Trump’s base includes quite a few old people. Trump / GOP are racists who coddle billionaires and corporations because they don’t respect regular people or people in need. They think corporate welfare is cool but abhor real people in need.
