It would be funny if their tongues were straws! LOL! Slurp!!!!

Humming birds are lovely, but "I found my thrill on Blueberry Hill."
Fats owned that song from the first words
I knew you'd get it! Those were the days when we could actually understand the lyrics.
Fascinating to watch them deploy enormous energy in the pursuit of being exactly where they are
Nope! I have filled my feeders 3 times and have yet to see my yearly visitors.
I think so. This year I discovered a nest with a mama hummingbird there! Incredible experience!
20 of them
Maybe perching on your finger. 💜
Close contender may be all the shots I've seen lately of woodpeckers sticking their tongues at other birds at feeders. Just tongue in bird face delightfulness.
Thats the bitch! I love it so much!
That brown bird looks sooo offended; like a butler smelling a fart.
We have hummingbird feeders with clear, rounded bottoms so you can see their little tongues dipping into the nectar. SO cool.

A hummingbird jetted away from me last summer, its waste stream caught the sunlight and it was literally pooping a rainbow.
I once held one in my hand and dribbled sugar water into my palm and it lapped it up. It had flown into a window and was stunned and I was saving it from a dude that was going to "put it out of its misery." That was a pretty cool hummingbird bird tongue experience.
Nope! Although the little hummingbird grunts are pretty wonderful!

We had the garage door open for not more than 10 minutes today, and one of the feathery idiots flew in. I eventually had to capture him by hand to get him out. (He was perched on one hand, and I covered him with my other so he wouldn't fly back up into the rafters.
I’m a big fan of seeing their little clawed feets while they sit on a branch sticking their little tongue out.

Never seen that. Now I'm curious. Must be seriously cute.
I've never had the pleasure of witnessing this but I have had the same thought about the woodpeckers who came to my window feeder! So cute when they do a "mlem" after drilling into a suet ball ☺️

I was out in the garden & saw a Hummingbird. Thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great if the Hummingbird came close enough for me to see its shimmering colors. The next thing I know, the Hummingbird is right in front of my face, showing me all its beauty.

The tiny tweets they make. Such a high pitch, sounds almost like tapping.
The first time I was outside and realized they squeak while they eat was a precious moment. They're so dang cute!
