is it time for the story about the filming of Blade II where they found these cool former-Soviet blacklights and it turned out they were high-intensity UV sterilization lamps and they cooked the corneas of everyone who was filming that day

OHHH SHIT.

They were real lucky to get away without permanent damage. Apparently the local doctor just cussed them *out* when they showed him the lamps. UV room sterilization isn't used a lot in the West! At least not for hospitals, I'm given to understand.

i think i have a vague memory of an ape party yeah, but it's real vague. The Blade II thing was *for* a rave scene, but I'm not sure if you mean an IRL rave, in which case no I don't know about that one.

I have no style shame and wear solar shields. They fit over my classes, if I'm wearing them, and have sunblocking panels on top of the lenses, and on the sides. There are other similar brands out there, but these should be on pharmacy sunglass racks.
