My issue isn't an eventual ruling in Illinois's favor, and moreso the enforcement of it It's not a scenario where Texas can just pay money over to Illinois for the injury, and getting any sort of injunctive relief takes time to procure and needs willing officials to enforce

I mean, *could* Texas be ordered to pay money to Illinois? Is that even a thing SCOTUS could do?

I mean, I would rather confront them and make them go full mask off. Does SCOTUS condone civil war through dismissal or delay? Do Trump and Abbott ignore a SCOTUS injunction? If we're going down this route, I want them to have to say it.

John Roberts out there tearing out his hair screaming "You can do anything but two things! Fire the Fed and start a civil war!" Everything sucks but I hope he rots in hell especially

Honestly it needs to be that the Illinois state police show up with the Illinois guard, escort their guests to a barracks and prevent them from violating the rights of the residents. Everything else results in irreparable harm.

Illinois has its own officials to enforce its laws; taking the view that any un-federalized TXNG member purporting to enforce laws in IL is impersonating law enforcement and therefore subject to arrest by local or state police just like anyone else would be, 1/

2/ as an exercise of its sovereign criminal power, sets the terms in an arguably stronger way than asking for an injunction. The state's sovereign, it doesn't *need* to ask for federal involvement to enforce its laws.
