Incorrect. Starmer can’t possibly say “look how awful rightwing populism is” because it’s impossible to make that case without describing Trump’s agenda. And he can’t do that because he’s tied his fortunes to Trump and can’t offend him.

Nonsense. It's the apparent popularity of Reform that he seems to be running scared from. It's a social media game and Starmer doesn't know how to play.

He won’t argue against them. He could be saying - look at Farage’s links with Trump. Look at his admiration for Trump and Reform’s antidemocratic tendencies. It isn’t nonsense. Being friendly with Trump makes it impossible to make that argument.

That would work fine for ppl like us. Reform UK like Trump. Most ppl in UK don’t know/care what Trump is doing. So I’m afraid to say, dull as it is, Starmer’s policy is right - for now, but circs will change. Trumps links with Putin (and Epstein) are obvious yet incredibly unproven for many

They would know what he’s doing if Labour talked about it. There’s only one measurement of Labour’s success that counts—can they save democracy and prevent a Reform government. The polls show they are failing miserably on that score.

While suitably impressed by the changes they're making - and they are transformative - I too am bitterly disappointed with the incomprehensible screw ups Labour are making. I had never imagined that the LibDems would become the most attractive out of the of the poor choices for govt.

The UK has been friends with America for a long time. Every PM since the 'Special Relationship' began has kissed the ring as it were to every POTUS to an embarrassing degree and without compromising at home policies. Same now.

First time ever that a president has been given a second state visit. First time that a president has been so actively working against the UK’s interests.

So? A 2nd state visit costs eff all. Trump isn't targeting the UK specifically. He's grapeshotting the world with whatever the hell he's up to. He doesn't have us in his sights. Why should he? We're nowhere near as important on the world stage now as we were in 2019.

It has enormous cost. It’s normalizing Trump. I’m banging my head against a wall but I’ll say it again - they can’t make the case against rightwing populism while pretending Trump is a friend. That’s going to give us a Reform government. Trumpism in the UK. I can’t think of a bigger cost than that

When you develop mature political awareness you'll be worth listening to but right now. No. You're intelligent though so hopefully you'll get there one day.
