Although I share your sentiment, misunderstanding "the establishment" doesn't necessarily MAKE them The Establishment. also, not sure what "The Establishment IS these days. A Trump sympathizer? It's possible that dubious reporters these days are leaned on my the bosses, who are Sensationalists.
I suppose in a sense I was trying to emphasize the inherent grievance culture in right-wing politics. They think life is a zero-sum game and justify authoritarian acts by the logic of competition. Even now, they think they're the underdogs and oppressed. More rights for others means less for them.
