I very much do not want to vote for Gavin Newsom, but right now, for purely self-interested reasons, he's one of the more combative Democrats out there, and if I want other Democrats to view that approach as necessary, I should support him now

I really wish that we had a group of politicians to pick from that seemed to be operating based on their own ingrained belief systems. With many, and especially Newsom, it just feels like he's play testing positions to see what works so it is hard to trust that he'd be consistent.
