Well at least this ruling was not really a win for him but rather a “now shit may get a little annoying for the lower courts.” The positive? At the last minute he removed his “let’s revoke birthright citizenship” bullshit because he knew he would lose. This isn’t even an actual win for him.

It absolutely is a win for him. Essentially he can continue to violate the constitution everywhere that isn't represented by a suit even if multiple courts deemed him to be violating the constitution. Much damage can be before a suit is filed and govt seeks to penalize suitbringers monetarily.

It’s really not. All this means is that the courts cannot issue nationwide injunctions. Class action LS and state LS can still be used to protect groups affected. AND the Supreme Court can still step in and make emergency rulings if needed. The bad? The damage in the interim. Yes this part sucks.

I genuinely applaud your positive outlook but in my view the interim damages can be really considerable, especially if govt manages to further penalize bringing suits upon itself while simultaneously foisting costs onto the state. Even tracking discrepancies between plaintiffs and member states 1/2

I fully agree. I didn’t mean to sound flippant in my response. I am very much worried about the people this administration is terrorizing. We know. We’ve made our voices heard. They don’t care. All we can do is keep fighting.

This is not a win though. Why? Because the DOJ deleted the claim from their filing right before SCOTUS reviewed the case. This means THEY KNEW IT WOULD FAIL. So this is not a win for him. It’s not great. But SCOTUS is still at least not taking it up the ass from him.

I’m angry for her. She worked her whole life to make it to that position of power so she could help this country….and this is what she’s has to face. To be so smart and so influential only to be silenced. We see her fighting and I hope she has a high seat when we rebuild.

I am mentally exhausted and overwhelmed. Anger, not even rage, is not sufficient description of how I feel. My mother's stories of growing up in Nazi Germany and my realizing the scars created in her psyche during those years wake me every morning. We are at war w ourselves and it won't end well!

There would not be a dividing line as there was in the Insurrection of 1860. If the country collapsed, how could it be divided into distinctive 'states'? The Great Depression created a paradigm shift in American politics as did the Civil Rights Acts of 1964-65. Life in the US will be interesting!
