The US Environmental Protection Agency will close the Office of Research and Development which provides environmental technical expertise. I'm forever grateful to their North Carolina campus for mentoring me in assessing the air quality impacts of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in Northern B.C. 🙏

It's not only the shuttering of the R&D dept, but what happens regarding access to their work & historical records? Moving forward, what could replace their contributions technical expertise?
Breaks my heart to think of all the harm that will occur with omission of their work foing forward. They did much scientific research to assess and manage toxic and hazardous contaminants, guiding regulations, cleanup standards, and risk assessments, all to protect public health and the environment.
