Subsidising (i.e., having the province of British Columbia pay for) Big Oil and Gas to mitigate their carbon pollution so they can meet our British Columbia emission standards, is hardly a laudauble "global standard" for how Canada should "fight climate change".

Oil companies have always claimed that investment would dry up if they were forced to pay to clean up their own mess. And because our political system is not exactly free from corporate interference, the governments have always caved.

I’m curious if our electrical exports (I think we send some South on occasion) are in the tariff cess pool. Maybe we now have surplus from site C, as the Southern cousin looks inwards to make sparks?
