So, I think, for the majority of PC voters, these talking points are just eye (ear?) candy. They are wed to the conservative ideology, especially for many of them as 'this is how it always has been in our family'. All I think I can do is just smile & wave... πββοΈ
More important, tho, than EV mandates, was how could they own their own home. And how could they have less government intrusion in their lives.
Most of the crew still wanted an ICE unit for extended travel, especially into remote areas; think fishing, hunting, or remote cabin. And they also were quite aware of climate change, and our impact on it. They wanted to see a better world for the future, and for their children.
The electrical sub had a Ford F-150 Lightning, and we would admire the quietness of it. What the general consensus came to is that EVs were a good thing, and for the local work & travel, made a lot of sense.
Last year on our worksite (custom home building), we had a number of discussions of ICE vs EV vehicles, especially work related needs. I would characterize the crew is moderately right of centre, and a few die hard conservatives in the mix.
