Would be funny if the US didn't grant him asylum.. Wouldn't surprise me they would though, he's white and he's an asshole.
And he tried insurrection in January. Bonus points for that.
An interesting gambit, which appears to be as much an ideological statement, as it is a practical move to avoid prosecution. But (and only a but) this could unravel in 3 years if there is flip back to a more reasonable (rule of law) US administration.
