I’m a Texan. I’m white. I’m the polar opposite of okay with this. I’m mad as all hell. I voted straight democrat in every election but in the last two elections I don’t believe my votes were counted. And yes there are a shit ton of American redneck assholes in Texas—not all of us.

Moves like this could bite them in the ass! There are lots of people like you and me who they assume are on the side of racism and greed, but there is a growing number who have seen their dishonesty and cruelty. So even with redistricting to silence POC, we could beat them anyway if we all vote!

I imagine you're angry enough to spit horseshoes and hatchet handles. Just like everywhere, Texans aren't a monolith. There are wonderfully warm and decent folks in TX and there are narrow-minded, Dunning-Krueger shitspreader scrapings in WI, despite the reputations of both our states. ✌️💝🙂

I take care of six dogs, 5 parrots and 2 cats, both amputees. Most are rescues, one borzois that escaped from a Texas puppy mill. All of them thrive on routine and zen. They absorb my moods so anger isn’t tolerated. The state of our nation triggers my Texas temper but I can’t let the kids see that.

This sane Floridian understands. Any time someone says if you don’t like it to move somewhere else has never moved… particularly in a shit economy. We are not all the same. We Florida lefties support our fellow Texan brethren.
