This is Max. He snuck out in the middle of the night and walked 5 miles to get a breakfast burrito from a store that gave him one once. They hadn't opened yet when he got there, but Max was found the next morning thanks to his GPS collar patiently waiting outside for his well-earned snack. 14/10
My coworker's pet mini pig escaped in the middle of the night. She was awakened by a phone call from the local convenience store reporting her pig was in their store, coerced to remain there by powdered sugar donuts. Piggy's face was covered in white powder when she arrived to pick him up.
😂 My pig (rip) knocked over the neighbors grill just to get scraps from it. The best escape was when she headed to the one store in town. I found her on the sidewalk with 2 elderly ladies talking to her while she listened, hoping for snacks.
Nancy's pig learned how to open the refrigerator to help herself :)

On the first day i adopted my great dane he escaped his kennel & jumped into a police cruiser 1/2 mile away at the store. The guy left his door open so Murray thought he was offering to take him for a ride. I had to go to the jail to get him. It was hysterically funny. We all got a good laugh.

That's a hard worker. When I was a youth our family dog remembered that he once got a bone treat at a drive through. He would hop up on my driving parent's lap every single time he heard the sound of a drive through speaker.
She's a dedicated terrier mix. Though we did have a Bernese Mountain dog who stole packages because a) mailmen were afraid of the "big dog" and tossed packages in the driveway and b) one of them had smoked salmon in it ONCE and she was an optimist...

My dog once got a biscuit from a driver delivering us a package. Now she sits nicely for all delivery drivers and the postman waiting for her treat. She is very disappointed if they aren't carrying treats for dogs 😕
The UPS guy in my neighborhood of many years always left biscuits for each of my five babies. Two have passed since it began--and two others have arrived. Our UPS guy seems to be on our route less--but one of the original three doggos still thinks every delivery means biscuits! ❤️ that UPS guy.
Our trash removal dude leaves two extra-large dog biscuits each week. Our elderly pup is disinterested, but the grand-doggies look forward to grammie showing up with those big cookies :)
It's a very sensible delivery driver who always carries treats for the dogs they encounter. Even the most ardent guard dog can be won over with a biscuit 🤣. With mine the delivery doesn't have to be at our house as she'll stop by one out on our walks and greet the returning driver with a nice sit!

I wish there had been GPS collars when I had mine so I could see where his adventures took him. But all our country neighbors knew him and would tell me how he’d show up to hang with their livestock or enjoy some snacks. 😂
I have four now but a total of seven in my lifetime. The ones that get out of the fence run as fast as they can to get away not because we mistreat them but because they think the boundaries are nonexistent. Great dogs, great protectors, and terrible shedders.
It was so funny watching him extend his radius in the short year we lived with family out in the country. The nearest neighbors were about a quarter mile away, but he made it to a farm about five miles away before we moved. And he always came home. The bestest boy.
Well, it was funny AFTER the first few times we panicked. But then we just drove around, introduced ourselves, got phone numbers and would call folks to see if there were sightings of him. He would return home the same day or the next, stay a few days, then do it all again. 😂
Out of all seven, I had one favorite female, who was very much a hippie girl. She let me brush her until the cows came home. Very Zen like. One male who was by my side every moment. And when the other dogs would spot a predator he looked for where I was and came to me. I sure miss them.
German Shepherds and Pyrenees are my favorite breeds. But the shredding on both! However, Caesar (my Pyr) taught me that I will never own a Pyr again unless I move back to the country. They are so happy when they get to patrol.
The shedding of the long hair is super intense though. Had to get rid of carpeting because their hair twisted around every fiber. They love the Rocky Mountains. I’m at 9300 feet, they love the snow. I grew up with a German Shepherd. Her name was Candy.
My dog remembered every place in NYC that ever gave him food and insisted each walk was a food tour, not exercise
