How lovely. I make it a general policy to adopt elderly pets - usually when owner goes into care or passes away. It’s so rewarding. Thank you for helping her find her family. I wish them many happy years together. 🥰

I am so sorry, but we all have to make sure our dogs are cared for everyone should have a Will including their dog’s future care. Not everyone gets to know when they will die.
When we had our Champion, before we got him even, I talked to my brother and sister-in-law and had them agree that they will care for him if something happens to us. Yes, people who adopt, especially if on the older side should have a plan B - a family member willing or a friend willing to step in

Yeah, it makes me wonder what happened/is happening to her human and if there's info on how we can help them. Including the fact they're terminally ill and enough to surrender their beloved pet without any follow up on the actual person feels a bit callous even while @weratedogs.com is about dogs. 😓
I mean we don't know the whole story, or even bow close to the end the previous owner was. It may have been coming soon and they wanted to be sure pupper was cared for before they passed.
I understand that we don't have all the facts, and that's one of the reasons why it was in poor taste to even mention it. Just seemed like a clickbait reason to include that information without the whole story. ☹️
It is sad that she had to give up a family member to get medical treatment. I can’t imagine making that agonizing decision. Hoping she’s at peace, knowing that her puppy is in a good home.
