We used to have a Golden Retriever. Such a gentle, lovely breed of dog. I'm not the least bit surprised that they are the dogs being used for this crucial work. 😍

There's something special about beagles. Since 1978, we've adopted 14 of them and given them a forever home. It's great to hear about your comfort dogs. I'm sure the kids and adults affected my the horrific shootings in Minneapolis appreciate their calming presence.

Also incredibly important to note, some of them have their own trading cards. They came here after the mass casualty incident on New Year’s Day in New Orleans, and the dogs were wonderful and the trading cards were a bright spot. I’m so glad that they’re there.
I attended a conference for energency workers where some trauma dogs and handlers were present. During one presentation public speaking, audience members were asked to participate. One woman was chosen but was visibly nervous. One of the dogs got up from his resting place and went to comfort her.
