We have a retriever and on one of our walks, we come across a statue of a black cat. She barks and barks at it, like she does all cats, but it's hard to explain to her why this one doesn't run away.

What a good boy! My dog did something similar at a nosework class. He was the only dog that realized there was a lifesize statue of a crouching cougar. He growled and barked. And wouldn't work there. We had to move his test to another area.

Lol, We haven't tried a dragon. I didn't realize the cougar statue was there. Until he growled. He's a terrier mix, refugee from a high kill shelter in Texas, He's a smart boy and very sweet. But he wasn't having it with that cat.

I recognized it right away - I spent a lot of time there in that little garden area while my dog was being treated for cancer at the CSU veterinary teaching hospital. The Hadley and Marion Stuart Foundation is still a great benefactor for the Flint Animal Cancer Center.

Where is it? I've been trying to Google things like "statues two men dog ball" to no avail. What a compliment to the artist, that a dog recognizes it as someone/something ready to throw a ball.

We had a golden retriever many years ago. We were at a lake where she tried to retrieve a buoy. It took 20 minutes to call her off to come back to shore.
