It also makes me queasy to see media & politicians running to Farage as the man who must “fix this”. It’s straight Trumpism: ego over institutions. And it’s dangerous theatre that undermines institutions and turns politics into personality cult. They need to stop elevating the grifting clown.

exactly, but the grim truth is the Heritage Foundation and similar groups have been bankrolling far right politics for years, alongside Russian propaganda. And with the Overton window in the UK and Europe dragged so far right already, I fear the damage is well underway.
