Unfortunately some of the Marines being deployed or any national guardsman, might be MAGA’d up and would do something crazy like assault Newsome or take him prisoner. I think him staying back and letting DC make this as FUBAR as it gets is a good tactic to take.

As feel-good as that would be, that is inappropriate. I know these are American troops and they’re our countrymen. But they won’t starve to death. This whole experience will be demoralizing and will lead to some of them going AWOL, refusing orders. He should entice them to stand down.
