MLB.TV was free to use this past Saturday. So I watched for about an hour. Here's why it's better than NHL on ESPN+ (a thread): 1. MLB uses logos of teams. ESPN+ often will use a player from a team to rep either team playing (confusing). 2. MLB games are listed in chronological order. (more)
On ESPN+, games will be out of order as new ones start (why?). 3. On MLB, you get pre-game shows. On ESPN+, you get a graphic that says "Game will start soon." 4. On MLB, teams will be listed visiting/home left to right. On ESPN+, teams will be shown visiting/home up or down. Most times, (more)
games will be reversed (confusing and inconsistent!). 5. On MLB, you can have access to your team's minor league games. Not on ESPN+ for your favorite hockey team. Let's hope ESPN fixes these problems when they acquire MLB out-of-market games this fall.
