Ok, thanks. I'm not sure what else was in that bill but defense is fine. I'm no expert but maybe the Rs should have tied it to other changes like cease-fire. I suspect the Rs had a worse plan and this was the best the humans (Dems) could do.

it sounds like she was put in a no-win situation. And, we have much bigger enemies to our country right now. She actually seems like one of our few and biggest allies. So I am willing to give her a lot of slack.

she is usually very good, and im not saying she should be primaried or anything. just dont get this vote. now, if ever, is the time to push policy as far away from Israel as possible

I won't pretend to understand the Israel situation enough to helpful recommendations. I do know that the situation is complex & I know that the Republicans are trying their best to make things worse. Netanyahu is at least as bad as Trump. so, with all of this, I don’t think we can put much on AOC

The Republican strategy here is obvious. Iron Dome is strictly defensive. If she votes for the amendment she’s accused of wanting innocent Israeli civilians to die, if she votes against it these idiots accuse her of betraying Palestinians.

So she should capitulate to Zionist liars? We should not fund the Iron Dome. She voted against an amendment that cut funding for it. This is bad, she made the wrong call. She doubled down on it and argued the Iron Dome is good. It is not. It empowers Israel‘s war crimes and leads to more death.

She needed to spring the trap correctly or explain it better. Even just "Fuck MTG" would be a better explanation than anything else.

Hey, hey! Accusing the Rs of such things is... Most likely true. Or an understatement.

Since you don’t seem to be able to back that up, i’m gonna assume that you have some agenda that you are not ready to divulge?

there's no such thing as "strictly defensive" weapons. the Iron Dome allows Israel to be as aggressive as it wants with basically no fear of reprisal

The Iron dome does not allow Israel to be aggressive, because the iron dome was useless against Iranian ballistic missiles. Israel is aggressive because they have air superiority over the Middle East, because of the US military funding.

its not "useless" at all. some got through but the defense caught the majority. but yeah, US military funding one way or the other

tinobell.bsky.social @tinobell.bsky.social

It's proven to be useless against Iranian ballistic missiles. Israel ceases to exist without offensive US military funding . Israel's air force can bomb any target in the region & return home safely. Stop believing shit you read on twitter.

Mike Keating @mikekeating.bsky.social

thats not been proven. Iran said most got through, Israel said most were intercepted. i agree with you that US funding props Israel up as near-untouchable in the region. not sure why you think the iron dome doesnt contribute to that

You know that iron dome literally can't shoot down guided missiles & definitely not ballistic missiles. Israel was getting hit so hard that they were forced to do a ceasefire. Israel is ruthless because they have un opposed air superiority in the region.

Do you lack reading comprehension? Israel aggressive in the region not because of iron dome, they are aggressive because America rules the skies in the region & the American clients states like Jordan & KSA shooting down all the cruze missiles & drones heading to Israel.

First of all this is wrong the existence of the Iron dome enables the Israel to commit genocide because there’s 0 fear of repercussion. Secondly, MAGA lunatics have and will call her antisemitic regardless of what she does because they’re all bad faith liars. Voting no for optics is really dumb.

So maybe it should have been tied to commitments to stop the aggression. My guess is that it isn't 100% effective so that may complicate things.
