I bought my first house last year. Little bit of a fixer upper but in a really nice neighborhood. I painted the whole thing top to bottom. And we replaced all the carpets and working on the yard now. It's fun and feels good but the list never ends. Enjoy your home!
This has had a complete rewiring up & down, a new boiler, extensive rerouting of pipes under the floorboards, a new bathroom, carpets & new flooring in every room. October is stripping the kitchen back to the walls, replacing a window with French doors. I'll be glad when it's done 😂

I think you're across the ocean from me, but middle/end of October if you hear the loudest, most relieved groan & what sounds like feet being put up, it's largely done 😭
