They have a club option. They can just exercise that and trade him somewhere willing to give him an extension

Perfect. While I am enjoying the Moose Renaissance as much as anyone, it screams sell high to me. I reckon moving him for GAM and Obed for ten million gives CW flexibility to start looking for upgrades.

An offseason trade makes a lot of sense.

An offseason trade would make even more sense if they had signed a promising U-22 striker this window, even if he wasn’t expected to contribute in 2025. Sorry, I know everyone is probably very done with this conversation but this is why I was frustrated with lack of signing.

It makes sense but a fair number of players they targeted will still be available in winter. I’m sure they figured better to take a second crack at those guys than go to our next rung of players.

Fair. I could be overvaluing this but I am guessing it would be very helpful to have a few months with a young player in training vs the rest of the squad, to help determine if they could replace Moose as #2 ST. I will be nervous if Seattle does trade Moose and only has Dero/brand new U22
