When was the last time you saw a fat celebrity? If you say “yesterday” I’ll know you’ve been watching UK Gold. My TV column this week is about Nicole Kidman, Ozempic and me. www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/0/hollywo...

There was Brendan Fraser who took one for the team... I have a feeling he's regretting now
Yes, I think in the UK it's still acceptable, but the US film & TV industry seem terrified of actors looking like us. Makes characters less relatable & that's sad. Lordy how I love your writing. Feels like we're having a chat in the corner.
Nicole used to be my favourite actress, but I find her motionless face off putting now.
OMG...
Charlie Dimmock is still regularly on daytime BBC as a larger lady and it’s great to see.
I’d name them but isn’t that fat shaming?
“Look at the ribs and shoulder blades on her” said nobody ever. Who wants to cuddle up to an emotionless skeleton?
As a woman of similar stature, I am envious of the dresses you wear on Only Connect. I’d welcome a tip as to where they can be found!
Agree 100% about 'apples fall' - disappointed by the last episode but thoroughly enjoyed the journey to that minor disappointment.
I not only don’t watch you with “pity” every week but I’m always admiring and your fantastic dresses which fit an actual woman shaped body. Nicole K has not only been unwatchable forever but painful to even look at. One day all those starving folk are gonna be in a really huge class action suit.
Sounds like I will have to join you, Mr. Pickwick, and Father Christmas. I tried one of the GLP-1 drugs (that's what Ozempic is) for the original purpose (diabetes control). The drugs slow down your digestive system so you fill full sooner. With me, they just stopped digestion, it did not end well.
I really enjoyed Apples Never Fall. Why does the final episode so often fail to satiate us?!
There doesn't seem to be a TV ad without an obese person, even the ones supposedly promoting the effectiveness of their slimming regime.
"... that’s a mistake in cosy crime. I want to be thrilled by the blood on the staircase; I don’t want to mourn the dead." I'm going to quote you the next time my editor says, "But no one in the village seems all that bothered by the murder"
Please do! Of course, it’s always best if the corpse is a grumpy old colonel who hated everybody.
Almost always
