Boycott Idea: What if local farmers only supplied to unions, who then dispersed the food to neighborhoods, and we all just… stopped buying groceries from major retailers and cooked simple meals? Could call it a “Cook-Out,” and do it until trump drops tariffs.

The vast majority of farmers are MAGATS, you’d have a hard time finding farmers willing to try that. Organizing that from the ground up is a massive undertaking.

Ah well, we could pocket the idea for if it ever becomes viable

I like it. Being poor to begin with, simple’s all I can afford, anyway. Besides, grocery store produce has taken a major downward turn. Fruit and veg are either under-ripe or basically rotting, at this point.

The produce is TERRIBLE. Absolute garbage and expensive

The other day, my mom bought a tomato and it was completely rotten inside.

there was a great piece on NPR (I’m sorry, I can’t remember which show) talking about an invasive species that is decimating citrus. There have been board meetings btwn companies on the issue. They estimate that citrus will soon be a delicacy. One lemon/orange will cost ~25-30 dollars.

It’s already destroying huge swaths of crops & causing farmers to abandon agriculture. You can tell bc oranges from the grocery store are largely flavorless. Other places in the world hang these huge nets over the crops, but only ONE of this species has to get in to completely ruin it.
