I was in a battalion in Germany with great morale and superb Soldiers and NCOs. Why? We all equally hated the battalion commander…from the XO on down.

Hated senior leadership is an amazing unifier. Worked for one who sent "Loyalty Check" emails at 1530 on Friday and would then call your immediate chain to determine why you didn't respond inside 15 minutes.

We all had to stand up on camera during the pandemic to a general could see if we were wearing pants with our uniforms because he was convinced during the last teams meeting some of us were only wearing uniform tops. I mean he was right but still.
