But would these parents sign up for a trial where there is a strong chance their child WILL get a vaccine? Neither pro nor anti-vaccine parents would want this.

There cannot be "a strong chance",or it wouldn't be a truly random blind trial.It's 50/50 or it's failed before it starts.You have as much chance of receiving the placebo as you do of receiving the vaccine.Adults sign up for drug trials,sometimes with grave outcomes,children obv cannot do that.

You can have a randomized trial with 70/30 or 80/20 or even a 33/33/33 split. It's that the participants are assigned to groups randomly not by their choice.

I'm aware of that,however that's not a truly inclusive trial,if it was,it would cover all peoples of all races, colours & genders,with equal numbers in each study group.for example,in Australia if you're of Aboriginal or Torres Island descent, it affects treatments & efficacy of medications.
