thinking about the political economy i wonder if it has to do with the advocacy work being ultimately funded by real estate developers/some tech (also why so many of them are if not hostile then curiously silent about public housing, dislike rent control, only care about deregulation)
IRL, CA YIMBY endorsed statewide rent stabilization and more public funding.
good! i stopped following it that closely post end of twitter 3 years ago. i do remember trepidation around non deregulation policy.
Fixing broken regulations that ban things we need is not deregulation.
