I watch BBC news because it is such a calm way to get the news. They don't shout, laugh maniacally, or speak abnormally fast. MSNBC could learn a few things.

BBC still saturated in bias!
I don't watch, but I read BBC daily.
We feel the same way about the nightly news on NBC and ABC too. It’s exhausting to listen to them. They should all just calm down, slow down, and just talk to us. It’s not a surprise that they are all losing their audience.
Exactly. And it's just getting worse.
So could CNBC.
Definitely!
False
Has faults mainly brought about by the tory placemen at the top. Starmer, get rid of them now. But it's still probably the best news source in the world.
especially Morning Joke who has good things to say but tries to pander to the Fox Propaganda Network audience😠
Scarborough and Capehart and Daniels are specifically 3 I had in mind with my post. There are others but they are hideous.
The BBC has a terrible bias now. Tim Davie, John McAndrew and Robbie Gibb have plans to shift it to ReFuck UK.
They have the best interviewers too: journalists who don't back away from tough questions or from pushing back on liesl.
If you're learning German, try Deutsche Welle's "Slowly spoken news". Not so good for native speakers, who tend to nod off between sentences. learngerman.dw.com/de/langsam-g...
Thank you. Good suggestion. I do watch DW English.
German-language coverage of US news sounds extra creepy. "Die von US-Präsident Donald Trump in die Hauptstadt entsandten Nationalgardisten tragen seit Sonntagabend ihre Dienstwaffen. Das teilte die Joint Task Force DC, der die Einheiten unterstellt sind, am Montag mit. ..."
I actually only listen to or read the news, NPR (which plays BBC), Reuters, AP, my local paper online. We’ve been cord cutters since 2009 and don’t use our many subscriptions to watch the news, even though we could. Once in awhile I’ll watch local news or read their print versions. Much better.
But the #BBC is also very biased and pro-Israel
The quality of their journalism has fallen though. Then they started to charge for access to the news. I switched over to Germany's Deutsche Welle instead. Do wish the CBC's NWI was still around. That channel was amazing. Newscasts from all over. It got turned into the now defunct CurrentTV.
Yes, DW is good. France 24 English also. It's getting so hard to find reliable, comprehensive information.
Yeah NWI was great. Towards the end it was like 30 minute blocks of DWTV, NHK, CCTV, CBC, I think they did the ITV news as well. May have missed one or two. Checking the Wiki looks like I remembered it well. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newswor... TLC used to show DW and F24 as well in the mornings too
Yes, the BBC lies very politely.
They all do. The bar is so low I'm down to appreciating not being yelled at....
BBC has always been the best Fourth Estate in the United States...and is nearly the only one left. Seriously....always. Since the 70's really, when nightly news began to give way to advertiser-fueled 24/7 ratings "news"
The delivery is good, however the balance can be questionable, and is something that needs addressing. For more balanced news, possibly Al Jazeera, disliked by Western democracies, authoritarian regimes (Political and Religious), they must be doing something right...
Yes. I do watch them occasionally when I know my in country news is b s. Thanks.
Just a quick question. Are you American? Trusting the Beeb is something we are running away from in the UK.
Yes. Trust me...the beeb is much better than anything we have to offer. Our TV "news" is a horror.
Oh I thought CNN and them were ok. I know never to touch Fox.
No. They are not ok. They once were but are fast preaching the corporate line, and we know what that is. Tabloids are what they are.
American TV news today is like British print press (specifically the Tabloids.) Bird cage liner at best. Its only purpose is to sell ad space at any cost.
😂🤣 They are controlled and owned by Corporate America, which worships a Pedophile!
Come on over to the Pedophiles SHITHOLE if you don't care for the news!
Zionist cesspit
I don't disagree. I was speaking about delivery. Not content.
Fair enough. Americans seem to have a serious soft spot for the British accent. Piers Morgan is a prime example
PBS is even better. But yea, BBC is good.
Thats what the news used to be before it became infotainment
Yes. I miss those days.
Not as good as Chanel 4 news - the BBC is a shill for Israel and a mouthpiece for that sewer pipe Nigel farage and sycophants for the dreadful royal family - slipping from trust into right leaning poisoners of discourse… news articles do not need backing music a sure sign of intended manipulation…
😊 yep.
Are you you don’t have them confused with Fox propaganda !
It is, however, rather biased against Palestine specifically, and muslim and brown people in general (per their own whistleblowers) much like is MSNBC (even more staggeringly).
Right wing bias
Don't disagree. Was speaking about delivery. Not content.
BBC News is conservative news, has been since Cameron, May and Johnson gerrymandered the management to suit their agendas.
Me too. And Al Jazeera.
I hate American TV news culture. New delivered by “stars” and “personalities” paid millions of dollars was always going to take us down the wrong road.
Exactly. All tabloid TV.
I hate how US news relies on spectacle for ratings. That sort of behavior led to a presidency relying on spectacle.
Yes. But they are horribly biased L prefer channel 4
Don't disagree. Was speaking to delivery which I find preferable to US "news."
It’s British to be calm and generally rational. It’s American to jibber and hoot and act like an uncouth arsehole. I say this as one.
All of America's media can learn something. The tension in the country makes hosts and guests go hysterical. They don't only shout, laugh silly or speak fast, they all do it at the same time. No one listens. It's mass hysteria by now. The country goes bonkers.
Exactly. Mass hysteria and they are making it so much worse.
BBC isn't living under the Trump tent, they are observing.
