Federal scientific integrity (SI) policies were created to protect fed scientists & their work from politicization, retaliation, & censorship. The Trump admin is replacing them w/ new policies to give the admin more leeway in politicizing science to reach conclusions convenient for its agenda🧵

The new guidance has many red flags. For example, it does not include any of the safeguards developed over the past 4 years by SI experts and says to place political appointees in charge of protecting science from politicization.
