They are fake, all lies! Currently (July 2025), fake emails circulating that claim to be from the Social Security Administration (SSA) regarding tax cuts on Social Security. These emails falsely state that a new bill eliminates taxes on Social Security income for a large percentage of retirees.

The same SS administration that is so understaffed, it takes over three months for them to tell you what your benefit is? That should be able to pull one document (the one we get that already TELLS us,based on the age we retire). Yup…we have started month 3, and now I will get two checks in August?

The tax benefit that the budget act bestows upon some social security recipients will continue through the next two voting cycles and then expire. Smells like a vote buying scheme to me.
