Sure. Sexism and racism exist, but that doesn't mean candidates will lose purely for those attributes. They said a Black man could never win... Until he did.

Thank gawd Russia hadn’t f’d FB back then. We’re not the same country anymore because of where social engineering online has taken us 😭
So Russians on Facebook made people racist?
Social engineering sponsored by Russia on FB (and other platforms) increased voter turnout that preyed on people’s biases based on gender, crime, etc. This isn’t some hoax conclusion. I didn’t look into it as an impact for 2024 vs 2016 b/c social engineering has exploded everywhere by other parties
Sure. But didn't they have to have that bias in order to be persuaded by it? Btw, the conclusion at the time was that the social manipulation was real but not enough to sway the outcome.
Yes as kicking people off the voter rolls was also necessary and is why it is an increasingly strong play by the GOP to clawback voting rights.
And clawback the accessibility of voting. St. Louis MO during the GW Bush Jr Term 1 election will always be essential to most valuable tools ever to the GOP. Throw up every obstacle possible to counting a cast vote in time.
I agree. Obama didn’t have the type of social media we have now plus the Russian interference. Obama had the ability to communicate and that helped. But he did not receive a majority of white votes. The next Dem nominee for president will have to be a white male. That’s where we are now as country.
Biden didn't receive the majority of white votes, either. The majority of white voters have favored the Republican since 1968. Why pander to a demographic you're not going to win with a candidate you've picked for racist reasons?
And I'm not saying we intentionally pick a person of a specific demographic at all. We pick the most energetic, appealing candidate, period, and stop second guessing what the electorate will think about it.
2024 was a huge lesson that we should never primary a cryptkeeper. However, the sexists will mobilize every time to vote against a woman and that probably includes international money feeding PACs too. Plenty of countries have a vested interest in delaying a woman president in america.
They campaigned against Hillary for 20 years and she had baggage for miles. Harris was not that great at spontaneous speaking and let herself be focus-grouped out of an appealing campaign. Their gender doesn't get to take credit for them being bad candidates.
True, but same goes for trump. He’s had terrible baggage for decades. Hillary’s campaign was not good. Plus, Comey and The NY Times hurt her. (Emails) Harris ran a decent campaign for how short it was. Both are highly qualified to be president; much more than trump. But look who ppl chose.
I'd have been happy for her to win, but Hillary was going to lose against anyone that year. She had a chance against Trump because of his complete awfulness, but he knows how to TV. And that's all he's done is TV'd. The media still hasn't figured out how to cover a complete psychopath.
I voted for Hillary. I knew about trump years before 2016. I kept hearing that Hillary’not Bill. She can’t give a speech like Bill etc. I thought trump was done after the Hollywood Access audio, and normally it will kill any candidate. Hillary did win the popular vote, but here we are. The Media…yea
Comey sure came in clutch with that last minute email revival. Trump is so weird and so corrupt. Any single one of his controversies ought to have ended him.
Why do you have such a significant problem with differences of opinion? I also already said it was multiple combined issues across your incessant peppering of “my opinion matters the most” responses.
Disagreeing with you and stating my reasons isn't "having a problem." It's "having a conversation." AFAIK, we're a collection of non-experts speculating, so everyone is naturally going to think their opinion is the correct one. I'll stop responding since you seem upset.
the thing is the sexists will also say that proves a woman cant win so we need to run more men
I would really like to see women like AOC and Crockett primary. I think they don’t want to be put through that. We could use more women going thru the steps to primary as SCOTUS and shame the sexists…but that’s a big sacrifice to their safety, security, family and district too.
The last Dem presidential candidate to win a majority of white voter was LBJ in 1964! After LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act,Dems lost a majority of white voters to this day. We live in a racist country. I voted Harris, but knew she had 2 big problems, her gender and skin color.
Sad to say I know Dems who didn’t vote for Obama or Harris because of race. Too many sat out the last election.
Yep, I voted for her but I’m a woman with a Masters Degree who aged out of foster care. Younger whites do better on the Dem side, but that’s usually educated and under 40.
I’m a boomer and have always voted Dem. And I admit that I vote straight ticket Dem. Yes, most educated ppl vote for Dems. Good for you on the Masters. I have a Bachelors Degree and planned to teach, but life took me elsewhere. No regrets, but like I tell the youngsters…stay flexible.
My plan was to teach at Uni after being a distinguished practitioner. But then I became a whistleblower. For now I’m staying certified in my field, but I don’t think I can keep doing govt finance/fraud/policy. Govt regulatory failings is the design now and it tires me. Not why I did public service
Yea, sounds like you’ve been through it. Hope it all works out for you.
Very kind of you to share good wishes ☺️ 🙏. Wishing you the best too. 🍀
Age groups matter. Biden turned out lots of whites 45 and younger. I don’t care what Boomers and older do because they are lost. Do you often try to bait ppl into saying lots of minorities don’t vote for women? I’d love to primary AOC or Crockett, but they know the truth about the voting blocks.
Biden was set to lose by a lot more than Harris did. Frankly it was her inability to distance herself from him that ultimately tanked her campaign.
Never trust the pre-vote campaign polls. It’s one way we’re exploited.
I'm talking about Biden's own internal polling that he never released because it was that grim. The exploitation was keeping it hidden until his debate performance made his resignation inevitable.
You’re really a dude on this account yes? The mansplaining is 🤭
I remember in college when we learned all the CAN students had required Advertising Literacy class in high school. Americans need required Social Engineering & 🤖 Hallucination Literacy Class. We should invest in protecting democracy and free/fair elections.
