I see so much talk about tropes. Tropes aren't good or bad. As a reader we all have ones we are drawn to and ones we tend to stay away from. Also, using tropes doesn't equate to lazy writing. Lazy writing equates to lazy writing. #RomanceTropes

But I will say that a romance needs a plot outside of tropes. They support a plot. Use of a trope without a plot may be a sign of lazy writing but also may not be. Also, internet discourse is just plain weird. #RomanceTropes
UH OH. *shoves no plot/all vibes story behind back*
Are you writing a vibes only story?
I sort of have been for years. I add a bit to it every once in a while....
It seems like such a foreign idea to me. Of course that isn't all that odd since actually writing seems like a foreign idea to me.

Hmm lol 😆
Excellent points and post, Jennifer Porter.
Funny that
Did you see that OP get mad at me for the quote-post? 😂
I don't even have threads but I went and looked and OOF. What did she expect, that everyone would just take it?
It was a very antagonistic type post - which I think will always get a reaction
All caps and everything! That’s the only reason it snagged me!
Apparently so! Even though she tagged BookThreads and addressed authors directly, everybody was just supposed to shrug it off.
I did not. I can't even . . . .
We've been through the trenches in Romancelandia, but these people are something else. lol.
At least it seems like a new argument? Maybe??
