Apparently, according to Ofcom (November 2024) 86% of adults in Britain use the BBC each week. That figure surprises me, when you consider the above and current GB News 2.0 content. Then again, some of us did vote for Brexshit.

Never trust the BBC. Not any more. It’s as easy as that. Sad to say it but its impartiality has gone. Can’t see it ever returning either. It’s a far right propaganda machine now.

As the historian AJP Taylor wryly remarked, Reith had “managed to preserve the technical independence of the BBC…by suppressing news which the government did not want published. This set a pattern for the future: the vaunted independence of the BBC, was secure so long as it was NOT exercised."
