Biomes are awesome. Forgetting our ties to the natural world and separating from it has costs to our health. Walking distance for me: A Starbucks and a Carls Jr in their natural habitat. In LA, it is a short drive to the beach, the desert, or skiing in the mountains. Could be worse. 🤷

Also within walking distance, #randysDonuts, as seen here in Fallout or Marvel's Runaways. Or in Iron Man 2, 2012, etc. Not sure why that wasn't my first thought on stuff in walking distance. I touch trees nearby. I think a lot about biomes and the microbiome, and it'll be a part of my 3rd book.

Fallout S1 E3 The Head scene with a destroyed Randy's Donuts one of the few landmarks of a destroyed landscape. Screenshot from Marvel's Runway, with a character in the foreground and Randy's Donuts in the background.

That's one creative use of biomes. Sounds like you're onto something there. I, for once, enjoy living in nature. While I enjoy being out and about in an urban jungle for a week or two, I tend recharge in wild nature (forests, swamps, meadows, mountains.) I live within walking distance of 6-7 biomes
