I was on a plane and connected to one of my servers at home via SSH and setup Audiobookshelf and downloaded a couple of books to try it out and everything worked flawlessly, self hosting and Tailscale are amazing

I really don’t know shit about self hosting and would like to become less reliant on the big guys. Can you point me to a good resource to start learning? I’m like basic competency but can figure shit out. Cheers.

I'm literally in the middle of editing a video for this but try the YouTube channels Hardware Haven, @jeffgeerling.com , Raid Owl or many others. I know Switch and Click just started a series but it's not really a guide. It's really not as hard as it seems.

At first I thought there had to be a catch and when I finally set it up it really was magic. I can do everything I want from anywhere, and all of my traffic routes through my home with the same ad blocking and privacy protections
