Sorry for my ignorance but the post I was responding to was about the royals not soldiers. My only connection with people fighting for freedom was my grandfather who fought for the international brigade in the Spanish Civil War in the late 1930’s . He was my hero.

The King, served and is the head of the armed forces. Who else should take the parade?
