We need to start calling him Colonel Robert E Lee. Frame his role properly and not give him and the Confederacy honorifics they didn’t earn.

I used to do this, or refer to him as "insurgent leader Robert Lee" in my years of fighting this fight in various online forums and comment pages. I was repeatedly told (by anti-secesh types and rebel apologists alike) that this was an 'extremist' take. 🤣
