DOGE is a failure. Promoted by conspiracy theories, nonsense and incompetence, it ruined professionalism and capability and saved nothing. economist.com/united-state... from The Economist

They succeeded in the primary objective: Exfiltrate all government data for Musk, Thiel, and Putin. Bonus: Every SCIF in DC is now backdoored by Russia like it was their embassy

Oh please. I thought the Economist would be better than this. Efficiency was never the objective of DOGE. Would any sane person have recruited that team if efficiency was the goal? They were all hackers, there to steal the data. Any data. They didn’t care.

That was the intent! It's a bad faith argument to suggest F'Elon/Tr*mp/DOGE/MAGA Repubs were trying to 'save' anything; they want only to ensure a wealthy, well-connected few don't have to pay what they owe or be held accountable for their crimes—and they will take every freedom we have to do so.

Might be a failure based on what? Did they succeed in getting access to all your personal data? What are they doing with all of your information.

DOGE did exactly what it came to do - bring a wrecking ball to the federal government. The chaos they sowed and federal workers that left were all consistent with project 2025. Sure they were incompetent in doing this but now Vought will pick it up and finish the job.

It was never going to be anything but a failure. Speaker Johnson fawning over Coristine, Shaotran, et al told me everything. Now, all one has to do to understand very sensitive ops detail is read the legal briefs. Not hyperbolic to say the planet now hangs by the thinnest of threads.

Musk's, and his followers, efforts were always doomed because they show a fundamental ignorance of, and disinterest in, governance. The purpose of capitalism is profit- and creating efficiencies to optimize profit. The purpose of governance is capacity and capability. Governments exist to DO things.

This is what happens when you elect f*cking idiots to high office. They will immediate hire other f*cking idiots to f*ck everything up as much as possible. But that WAS the goal, anyway....

There is plenty of evidence that DOGE was/is doing what Trump desired and Trump was highly pleased with its performance. It is 100% Trump's failure. It is not Musk's failure--he was just the tool in Trump's hands.
