The last 30+ years, when I talk to teachers they talk abt having to fill out forms & complete reports & days off from actual teaching for clerical work. There's no longer enough time in a school day, in a school year to teach. We demand they get a degree in education & then we don't let them teach.

My sister quit teaching years ago when TX implemented standardized testing. Teachers stopped teaching and became test administrators.

I've heard so many stories like this. Not just in TX but across the country. A friend of mine took early retirement from the LA City School District because of all of the clerical that she was having to do. It gave her no time in the class for teaching.
